NITASH 14-0-9
Nitash 14-0-9 is a naturally mined sodium, potassium nitrate from the Atacama desert in northern Chile. It has been approved (under the manufacturer's brand) by WSDA for use on certified organic farms (restricted to 20% of the crops nitrogen requirement). Nitash 14-0-9 is soluble and has a rapid release rate. It is ideal for turf, especially where phosphate applications are regulated or prohibited. There's no phosphate in Nitash. Just seven pounds of Nitash 14-0-9 per 1000 square feet delivers one pound of nitrogen and two-thirds of a pound of potash. It's consistency is an easy-to-spread prill (SGN range 140-280). Density is 70 lbs. per cubic foot. Nitash 14-0-9 contains 19.6% sodium.
A word about sodium nitrate
A proposed NOP rule change prohibiting sodium nitrate as a source of nitrogen
on certified organic farms is scheduled to take place in October, 2012; however,
it has not yet been determined if the rule change will be implemented this year.
